MISSION & VISION
The Nitro Land Reuse Authority’s mission is to stabilize neighborhoods through the elimination of blighted properties, the creation of affordable housing opportunities, and the stabilization of property values. To return non-revenue generating, non-tax producing property to an adequate utilization status in order to provide housing, new industry, and jobs for the citizens of the Counties of Kanawha and Putnam. We believe we have a unique role in community revitalization. Our goal is to eliminate barriers to redevelopment, and that goes beyond property renovation and sale alone. We will serve as a central vehicle for returning all tax-delinquent and non-revenue-producing property within Nitro to a productive status. This will simultaneously create vibrant communities, affordable housing, and economic opportunity.
